xSQL Schema Compare for SQL Server > Synchronizing Databases > Working with the Synchronization Script |
The synchronization script will be displayed on a new tab of the comparison window. The tab is named as [server].[database] for which the script was generated and it contains two sub-tabs: "Synchronization Script" tab, which contains the SQL script, "Synchronization Log", which provides a summary of the actions performed on the target database by the synchronization script.
Warnings Section: please pay special attention to the warnings displayed at the top section of the synchronization script window. When the database synchronization requires dropping objects like columns or tables that may contain data, changes the length of a columns, or when the synchronization is performed through an intermediary table, schema compare will display warnings indicating the potential risk that such actions carry.
Both the "ribbon" and a context menu allows you to open the script in SSMS, save the script, copy it, print it, jump to a certain line in the script.

If you go back to the comparison results tab and redo the comparison the corresponding synchronization script may be out of sync - the script will not be re-generated automatically. To refresh the script click on "generate the script..." on the "comparison Results" tab. |
